AIR CONDITIONING

Car manufacturers recommend your Air Con system is re-charged with gas and lubricant every 2 years. This is not part of your routine vehicle servicing, so if your vehicle is more than 2 years old - then its probably due a re-charge.Our trained technicians will show you the difference in your Air Con system before and after re-charge. We will replace and re-charge lubricant and refrigerant levels in line with your manufacturers recommendation. If we cannot improve the coolest vent temperature by more than 10% when measured - we will not charge you for this service. This service is available on a drive in basis and does not require an appointment - will be carried out on a while you wait basis, and usually takes around an hour to complete.

BATTERIES

We have the latest diagnostic and battery inspection equipment to make sure your battery is in the best condition.Our batteries are fitted by our qualified experts and also come with a 3 year warranty. We can fit your new battery while you wait, but would ask if you wish to order a new battery, please call us with your vehicle details beforehand and your new battery will be waiting for you when you arrive.

DIAGNOSTIC

We are able to quickly identify any problems with illuminated lights on your dashboard using fully updated diagnostic equipment powered by Snap On. We can identify all fault codes and will be able to give you an on the spot diagnosis. We can easily detect

This is a drive in service which needs no prior appointment and will be carried out while you wait.

BRAKE DISCS AND PADS

We can all tell when our brakes are not working as efficiently as they used to, this may present itself as a 'spongey' brake pedal and the other noticeable sign is a grinding noise when braking. We are able to troubleshoot this and repair it for you. There are standard checks we carry out before changing your disc and pads as sometimes it may not be necessary (many customers are often 'duped' by untrustworthy garages who do not check other options first!)

These checks include low brake fluid/contaminated brake fluid. Worn brake pads or even the brake power boost unit. If you are concerned about the performance of your brakes, or would like them checked, please call us and we can arrange for you to come in and our qualified technicians will check them for you. Discs and pads will need to be ordered but can be fitted while you wait.

Fortron Treatment

This is a new concept in technology which can potentially save you a great deal of money! When your DPF warning light is illuminated it has detected a problem. TerraClean will clean the DPF without the need for its removal from the vehicle (which is a costly job) and alleviates the need for renewal. If you click on the TerraClean tab this will give you an in-depth description of TerraClean and its advantages.

We can carry out a TerraClean as a drive in service with no need for a prior appoinment and will be carried out while you wait. The entire process usually takes around an hour.

OIL AND FILTER CHANGE

The health of your engine depends greatly on the performance of the oil and filter. Oil lubricates the vehicle and the filter helps carry dirt and debris away from the engine. Over time the filter becomes clogged and can contaminate the oil. Oil and filter changes are recommended approximately every 6000 miles. Most vehicles are fitted with an oil warning light to alert the driver that the vehicle is low in oil, although you should check your oil once a week to ensure there are no problems, not having enough oil in your vehicle can seriously damage your engine. We can check this for you while you wait and replace your oil and filter should this be required. We will also re-set your oil service light at the same time. The oil filter will need to be ordered, should you wish for the parts to be replaced please give us a call beforehand and we can ensure your parts are waiting for you when you arrive.

CAR BULB FITTING SERVICE

Having defective lights on your vehicle can result in getting a fine, and is also an MOT failure. As well as reducing your visibility when driving. We can check and replace all your car bulbs for you. Fitting a replacement bulb is not always as easy as it looks, so why not use our trained technicians to do it for you. We can fit:

This is a drive in service and done for you while you wait as we keep the vast majority of bulbs in stock. No need for an appointment!

BLUETOOTH AND HANDS FREE KIT INSTALLATION

We offer a Bluetooth car kit installation service where our fitters can install your kit into your vehicle quickly and prefessionally. Once fitted we will also spend the time giving you advice on how to use it and explain all the features of your new kit to you. Leaving you to drive away legally and with confidence. We can offer this service on a drive in basis and can fit it while you wait. No need for a prior appointment.

WIPER BLADES

Our typical british weather means your wiper blades have their work cut out! We recommend that you change your wiper blades every 12 months. If your windscreen isn't clear or clean, you will have reduced visibility which can be extremely dangerous. Visit us today and have yours replaced. We stock a wide variety of most sizes of blades and this can be carried out on a drive in basis and can be fitted within a few minutes. We charge £2.50 for one - or £4.50 for a pair.

CAR AUDIO FITTING AND INSTALLATION

Why not let us install your car stereo, DAB radio, in dash DVD player, speakers, subwoofers and amplifier to your audio system. Our experienced technicians have completed hundreds of installations, so really know what they are doing!

We can offer this on a while you wait basis, but would ask that you kindly telephone us prior to arriving, to ensure all your parts are available when fitting.

TYRES

Keeping your tyres in good condition can save you money and ensures your car consumes fuel efficiently. It is vital you check your tyres regularly to keep yourself and your passengers safe. We can check your tyres for you on a drive in basis with no prior appointment available. We professionally check the tread depth and wear, also tyre pressure and we check for any damage to the side walls. Should you require new tyres, we can offer this on a while you wait basis, but would ask that you contact us prior to visiting us to ensure your tyres are ready and waiting for when you arrive.

OUR NEW 5 POINT CHECK WITH TOP UP OF ALL FLUIDS

Eastlake Garage now offer a new service of a 5 point check which checks the following:

Engine Oil
Screenwash
Coolant
Brake Fluid
Power Steering Fluid

We acknowledge how important it is to make sure all the above fluids are topped up to ensure your car is running at optimum condition. Let us give you peace of mind when on the road. Our prices start at £9.99 which includes the fluids and will vary depending on the make and model of your vehicle. Call us today for a price for your vehicle. We can offer this as a drive in service and will be carried out while you wait. All fluids and oil are kept in stock.

NUMBER PLATES

We are DVLA approved registered providers of number plates. We can replace your cracked, damaged, faded or marked plates for your car or bike. We can also help by making you an extra set of plates if your towing or using a rear mount cycle carrier. All our plates are completely road legal and DVLA approved. Our standard plate prices start from just £7.00 each or £10.00 a pair.

You will need to bring the appropriate documents with you for your new plates. The law states that you must provide current proof of identity and proof of entitlement to the registration mark quoted in order to get replacement number plates.

At least one original document from each of the lists below is required for us to supply you with a legal number plate. i.e you need to bring one document listed under 'proof of identity', and one from list 'proof of entitlement' required by the DVLA to prove that you are allowed to display the plate. Together, the two documents must let us check your name, address and vehicle entitlement. We only accept the following documents:

Current utility, Telephone or Council Tax Bill

Passport

National ID card issued by the Government of a state of territory other than the UK

Debit or credit card issued by a bank or building society

Police Warrant Card

Armed Forces itentity card

Remember - the Proof Of Identity document you choose to bring into us will need to show your name AND address.

2. PROOF OF ENTITLEMENT

A Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C) - please be aware only the new red V5C Certiciates will be accepted - NOT the old blue certificates.

The tear-off slip (V5C/2) from V5C section 10

A Certificate of entitlement to a mark (V750)

A cherished transfer retention certificate (V778)

A vehicle license renewal (V11)

A temporary registration certificate (V379)

An authorisation certificate (V948) from the DVLA local office with official DVLA stamp

A letter of authorisation from Fleet Operators (including a lease/hire company). The letter must quote the document reference number from the V5C

Sometimes you might need to provide a third document if the two documents brought in to us do not show your address. For example, if you bring a debit card and V948 into us, neither document show your address. So you would need to bring in another listed document for proof of address.

Please note: These are the legal guidlines imposed by the DVLA, and unfortunately we cannot provide you with new or replacement registration plates without the correct documentation.

Your plates will need to be ordered, therefore you are welcome to call into our premises with your relevant documents to order them, or you may E Mail them to us - only then will your plates be ordered.
